FAQ

Q.How does Shipwire define an Insert?

A.An Insert is any object smaller than 8.5″ x 11.5″ x 0.1″ (21.59cm x 29.21cm x 0.25cm), and less than 0.2 lbs (0.9kg). Anything larger should be defined as a regular base product, and is subject to standard pricing.

Q.Why is my Insert named differently from the containing pack? What about labels?

A.The package is a separate item than the Inserts inside the package. This way when you send the package to Shipwire, we can receive and store it and still know how many individual items (in this case, Inserts) will be inside it for inventory purposes.

Q.How will Inserts be added an order for a single Pre-packaged and Ready-to-Ship order?

A.For Pre-packaged and Ready-to-Ship orders, Shipwire will add the insert into the pouch that contains the packing list. This is only available for foldable Inserts (CDs/DVDs not included).

Q.How can you designate which orders include which inserts?

A.When you create the Insert in the Add Products interface you will have the option to define when your Insert should be included with an order during the “Configure” step. You can choose to have your shopping cart tell us when the Insert should be included (assuming your shopping cart has that functionality). Alternatively you can choose to have your Insert included in all orders, or in orders above a certain retail value, order quantity, and/or date periods.

Q.If I run out of a particular Insert, will the order be held or back-ordered?

A.No. If no Insert is available the order will ship normally without the Insert.

Q.How many Inserts can be included per order?

A.Only one insert can be included per order and priority will always be given to the Insert specified by the shopping cart. In the event that more than one Insert is specified for an order, priority will be given to the most recently-defined Insert.

Q.How can I see the insert added to an order?

A.Inserts can be reviewed just like any other item in an order from your Shipwire account dashboard.

Q.Can I dispose of or ship out a case of Inserts?

A.Yes. Simply put in an order for the Case of Inserts or ask a member of the Shipwire Care team to dispose of the individual Case. If you opt for disposal, please remember that some of our fulfillment centers are in jurisdictions with specific environmental disposal requirements.

Q.Do inserts count against my security deposit?

A.No. For merchants who are above the security deposit threshold, please note that inserts are not counted against your security deposit requirement.

The individual Inserts do not need a product SKU on them; however, if you have that option feel free to do that to further limit confusion. For example in the bottom footer of a datasheet or on a promotional CD cover.

Q.How will Inserts be added an order for a single Lick ‘n Stick® order?

A.For Lick ‘n Stick® orders, Shipwire will add the insert into the pouch that contains the packing list. This is only available for foldable Inserts (CDs/DVDs not included).
