Warehouse move from Laughton-Lewes to Daventry

Please note: Do NOT re-route inventory to the Daventry location unless you have been contacted via email by our Customer Care team. At this point, we are moving customers gradually in waves.

Q.When will I be moving?

A.Our Customer Care team will reach out to you when you should begin sending shipments and ASNs to the Daventry, GBR location. If you have not received an email, please continue to route product to our Laughton-Lewes, GBR location.

Q.How/when can customers visit the new facility? Will I be able to arrange a tour?

A.Yes, customers can schedule a tour of the facility by emailing customercare@ingrammicroservices.com.

Q.What prompted these moves?

A.We are constantly assessing our network to ensure it aligns with our customers’ needs and our business goals. By moving to a Shipwire owned facility, we are able to provide better control and a team of tenured Shipwire operators.

Q.What are the new addresses of the fulfillment centers and what are the respective receiving times?

Receiving times are as follows: 7:00 AM local time to 1:00 PM local time. All orders received before cutoff, will ship same-day. Orders placed after cutoff time will ship next-day.

Q.How will inbound ASN/PO’s work if they arrive to the Laughton-Lewes, GBR facility after a customer’s moving period?

A.ASNs that arrive after the move date, will be re-routed from the Laughton-Lewes facility to the new Daventry facility.

Q.How can customers schedule inbound shipments to the Daventry warehouse?

A.All shipments destined for our warehouse must be preceded by a pre-advance notification when making a booking.

        All shipments containing 1 pallet or more must have a delivery slot time and reference before arrival at the facility. Non-adherence will result in the load being refused entry to site.

        A booking for more than 1 pallet can be obtained by calling and/or mailing our scheduling clerk on the following number and email addresses:

        The following information must be communicated to us before a delivery slot and reference number is issued.

        • Details of the vendor(s) being delivered
        • Details of the carrier/haulage company being used to deliver
        • Your full contact details in case of any issues
        • Total pallets to deliver
        • Total product lines to deliver
        • Shipwire UK’s purchase orders being delivered

Q.What is the impact to inbound/outbound shipping activity?

A.Inbound and outbound shipping activity will not be impacted.

Q.What will the cycle count process/time frame look like?

A.Cycle count processing and timing will remain the same as the agreed upon SLA.

Q.Does this fulfillment center follow the same protocol and procedures for all parts of operations?

A.Yes, the new facility will follow all the same protocols and procedures.

Q.What is the 3PL freight turnover time expectation out of new facility?

A.All cutoffs will stay the same.

Q.Will we still honor SLAs during the move?

A.Yes, we will honor existing SLAs, with the exception of the single day of no shipping.

Q.Will any services be impacted during this transition (i.e. delay in orders, delivery times, etc.)?

A.We do not anticipate a large impact to service. However, there may be some impact to regular operations during the move.

Q.Will you still have serial scanning and custom packing lists?

A.Yes, the facility will offer the same services.

 

Carrier Questions

Q.Are the same carriers available?

A.Yes, with the exception of TNT, which has been removed. Updated carriers include:

      • Royal Mail
      • UPS
      • Hermes
      • DPD
      • Parcel Force

 

Inventory Operations Questions

Q.If it occurs, how will excessive inventory loss be handled? Credits?

A.We will follow the existing policy for damaged inventory, credits and loss of inventory.

Q.What happens to damaged inventory? Will it be moved to the new warehouses or will it be disposed of?

A.If there is any inventory damaged during the move, it will follow existing protocols.

Q.How long will my inventory be held while the transition takes place?

A.There is one day of no shipping and one day that inventory will be held.

Q.Will you be transferring inventory stages to avoid holding all my inventory?

A.Yes, we will be transferring all inventory in stages as to avoid order delays.

Prior to requesting the slot the following information must be communicated to us before a slot and reference number is issued.

General Requirements (general shipping guidelines):

The following information must then be declared on arrival before admittance to site.

      • Booking in reference number
      • Booking slot time.
      • Number of pallets.
      • Declaration that no goods on board are covered under the COSHH regulations.

Only the driver is permitted entry to site with the vehicle, no drivers mates will be allowed entry to site for H & S & security reasons.

All trailers must be capable of being off loaded from the rear by powered and hand pallet truck.

Maximum height of a trailer should not exceed 13 ft 6 inches

Stepped trailers will not be accepted due to dock leveler restrictions

Vehicles with goods on board that are covered by COSHH Regulations will be refused entry to site.

Vehicles with damaged floors and/or sides will not be accepted for H & S reasons.

Drivers in all situations Must submit ignition keys prior to tipping (incl. Spare sets)

High visibility vests will be issued to all drivers; these must be worn at all times whilst on site and returned to security on exit.

No Non IM products will either be handled or brought into the DC, any vehicles that are multi drop and the stock is in our way we be asked to deliver the other goods first and if needed request another slot for delivery.

Special Delivery Instructions:

All drivers are requested to stop at the Security Gatehouse upon arrival.
Before the delivery is tipped, the receiving department will check that the load is not an H&S risk. Examples of loads that are a H&S risk:

      1. Pallets that have fallen over in a domino effect.
      2. Unstable double-stacked pallets.
      3. Pyramid stacked pallets.
      4. Pallets obstructed by hanging straps. (These must be cleared by the driver before unloading can commence.)
      5. Pallets obstructed by other customer goods.
      6. Pallets straddling others.

All vehicles that arrive with any of the above conditions will be refused.
Shipwire accepts no liability for refused stock.

Q.Does this location handle live unload only- or drop trailers?

A.Drop trailer deliveries and live unloads must be scheduled.

Product Labelling:

      1. All Products must be supplied with a unique UPC/EAN code on each unit and on the master carton, if supplied as a case pack.
      2. All Product must be delivered in carton qty whenever possible.
      3. Products requiring a serial number must have the serial number in barcode format for scanning on the side of each unit.

Advance Ship Notification:

A.All shipments must have an ASN sent the day the shipment departs from supplier. All ASNs must be sent in systemically via EDI.

Pallet Building Capabilities:

A.Yes, but SKUs must have clear dividers between them.

Standard Pallets that can be received:

      1. Products must be delivered on the following pallets specs only
      2. STD Euro pallet (1200 * 800mm)
      3. This is the preferred method for all deliveries.
      4. STD 4 way entry pallet (1200 *1000mm)
      5. All pallets must be stacked in the correct manner to facilitate an accurate count.
      6. Ensure all product description labels are facing outwards to speed up the process for counting and verifying deliveries.
      7. Ensure that the pallet layers are stacked correctly with the same number of cartons on each level to enable easy verification.
      8. Once a pallet and carton count has been verified against the carrier’s paperwork, it will be signed for “Contents unchecked” and a total pallet count.
      9. All stock is to be stacked within the confines of the pallet – no overhanging products. (Overhanging pallets represent likelihood of damage and therefore may be refused.)
      10. All stock must be in clear shrink wrap and securely wrapped to the pallet. Goods obscured by non-clear wrap may be accepted if the goods are deemed of high valuable/desirable goods etc.

Pallet and Master pack Carton Label Requirements:

All cartons clearly marked with SKU, quantity, Batch Number and UPC barcode with EAN 128 configuration. Serialised product must show serial number and barcode on the MC box and must face outward.

Master Carton ID:

ID must face outward on the pallet so it can be clearly seen.

Pallet ID:

Pallets with existing Pallet IDs must be have IDs clearly visible on all sides. There should be an ASN on each pallet where applicable.

ID Info:

      1. Vendor breakdown paperwork must be attached to each pallet or grouped together with the Drivers CMR.
      2. All vendor breakdown paperwork must be in clear print and readable at all times.
      3. All paperwork must contain the PO on each page in relation to the VPNs on that PO.
      4. Carton/case qty must be included against each line.
      5. Delivery address must be on paperwork.
