Shipwire Partner and Affiliate Update 2014
As one of our valued partners, we would like to give you a quick update on what is going on at Shipwire
New RESTful API and Developer Center – At Shipwire, we have always understood that building a world-class logistics and shipping platform means having great developer tools. Since our inception, we have provided industry-leading XML-based APIs that have served thousands of developers well. But we knew we could do much better, and that this would be important as we sought to unlock many more developer capabilities. We’re excited to announce an overhaul of the way we do shipping APIs with the new Shipwire Developer Center. With the new Developer Center we are releasing new APIs, features, and functionality that will empower developers all over the world to build tools for the next generation of ecommerce merchants. See the full announcement here.
Acquired by Ingram Micro – In case you missed earlier announcements – late last year we were acquired by Ingram Micro. This is exciting news. Take a moment and read the blog post from Damon Schechter, our Founder and CEO.
New Onboarding Flow – We’ve updated our user interface and improved our onboarding experience to make it even easier for new merchants to get started with Shipwire. Check it out!
New Australia warehouse – Adding to our existing warehouses in the US, Canada, UK, and Hong Kong, we have launched a warehouse in Sydney. Measuring over 40k square meters, it’s the biggest warehouse in Australia. Australia is one of the fastest-growing ecommerce markets in the world, and using our warehouse is the best way to get inventory into the market. New Shipwire features you should know about
Serial number scanning – We now offer serial number scanning at all of our warehouses. This is key for consumer electronics and other retailers that need a record of which customer was sent which product with a particular serial number. It enables business processes around product activation, recalls, quality control measurements on different production batches, warranty claims, and more. See the guide for more info.
Lithium-ion battery fulfillment – Did you know our platform can handle fulfillment of products that include lithium-ion? We understand the specific carrier regulations around lithium-ion, and our system will intelligently select from among the available carriers based on these regulations, and ensure that any requisite carrier markings, such as stickers, are included on carton packaging. See the guide for more info.
