It is certainly getting easier to scale a business and create a global brand. A prime example is Angry Birds. The creator, Rovio, has more than 250 million downloads of its mobile app over the past two years.
As seen with companies like Disney, there are billions to be made from global brands. And Rovio is trying its best to replicate the model. To this end, the company quickly setup a merchandise business for last year’s Christmas season.
Since then, more than two million plush toys have been sold. In fact, it has taken just a few staff members to build this business.
