Shipwire in PayPal Apps Will Provide PayPal Merchants Free Web-based Order Management, Shipping Automation Software and Fast Access to Warehouses in the U.S., Canada and Europe
INNOVATE 2010, SAN FRANCISCO — Oct. 26, 2010 — Shipwire, the leader in ecommerce fulfillment, today introduced Shipwire Anywhere™ that will be available for PayPal merchants. Shipwire Anywhere is the industry’s first Web-based order management software service, seamlessly integrated with outsourced order fulfillment warehouses in the U.S., Canada and Europe. Shipwire Anywhere application eliminates shipping headaches for growing PayPal merchants, providing Web-based shipping, order management and optional outsourced fulfillment services, managed from within a merchant’s PayPal account. Shipwire is showcasing the new integration today at PayPal X Innovate 2010 in San Francisco.
The Shipwire Anywhere app will be embedded into PayPal as a PayPal App, and upon release, will be extending PayPal merchant account features, with real-time shipping rates, online postage printing, order fulfillment management, and shipping automation features. Shipwire’s global warehouse facilities are fully integrated, and will give PayPal merchants instant access to overseas markets using Shipwire warehouses in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.
“We are excited to provide PayPal merchants 1-click access to a full spectrum of shipping, order management and online postage printing features right from within their PayPal account,” said Damon Schechter, Shipwire founder and CEO. “PayPal is a critical sales tool for growing international online sales. Providing fast access to shipping software and outsourced shipping services globally, demonstrates that PayPal is serious about seller success.”
“Shipwire is using PayPal X to extend the functionality of a PayPal account into outsourced order fulfillment from physical warehouses in the U.S., Canada and the U.K.,” said Damon Hougland, senior director of PayPal X. “This represents a great example of the flexibility of PayPal developer tools, and a clear path for PayPal merchants that want to grow overseas sales.”
PayPal Apps allows developers to embed applications directly on the PayPal website and offer SaaS (Software as a Service) apps which enhance PayPal’s services. Currently in beta, PayPal Apps has been made available to Innovate attendees and will be launched to a broader audience next year.
